Commitment
Financial crime commitment
Zuripay is not yet licensed and is not onboarding customers. This page sets out the standards we commit to meeting before we accept a single customer.
Regulatory notice. Zuripay Solutions Limited has submitted an application for licensing with the Bank of Zambia. Our application is currently under review. Zuripay is not currently licensed to provide regulated payment services in Zambia. Regulated services will commence only after all required approvals have been obtained.
Our commitment
A payments business is a gateway into the financial system. That makes preventing money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing part of the job, not an afterthought. Zuripay commits to the following before launch:
- A documented AML/CFT programme, approved by the board and reviewed at least annually.
- Verification of the identity of every merchant we onboard, and of the people who own and control them.
- Screening against applicable sanctions lists, and identification of politically exposed persons.
- Ongoing monitoring of transactions for unusual or suspicious activity.
- Reporting of suspicious transactions to the Financial Intelligence Centre as the law requires.
- A designated compliance officer with the authority and independence to escalate.
- Training for every member of staff, and record-keeping for the periods the law requires.
What we will not do
We will not onboard a customer we cannot identify. We will not process a transaction we cannot explain. And we will not treat a compliance obligation as a commercial inconvenience.
We do not publish the detail of our controls. Publishing the mechanics of financial-crime detection would tell the people we are trying to stop exactly how to get past it. The full framework is filed with our regulator.
